Owners of one of the coolest metal band names ever, Lair of the Minotaur have exploded onto the metal scene in recent years. Playing an unholy mix of thrash metal, sludge metal, and doom metal, with some occasional psychedelic interludes, Lair of the Minotaur is one of my favorite bands to emerge out of the last decade, and with the downturn that Scar Symmetry has taken, they have likely taken the lead. Their music is aggressive but at the same time a hell of a lot of fun. And the band does not take itself too seriously. One more reason to love them.FAVORITE ALBUM: WAR METAL BATTLE MASTER
