For several months now I have had an ongoing list of upcoming posts. Not counting Initial Impressions, this list now only has one entry left, one for which there will be a posting early this week. A very painful one, but that will be explained in due time.
So because I am running low on ideas, I thought I would do something unprecedented on this blog and take reader requests. I know I don't have too many readers, so I probably won't get a lot of ideas from this, but if there is anything you want my opinion on, please let me know.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on, the following, if you have an opinion:
ReplyDelete- Varg Vikernes. I'm consistently amazed at what it is about him that offends people--usually, it's the stuff that I think is less offensive.
- Dethklok (the cartoon death metal band of Metalocalypse). Terrorizer called them "false", but I have a more nuanced opinion.
- Trve Metal. This is kind of related to the above, but not completely. I was planning on discussing this one when I get a chance, but it seems like all these "kvlt" metal bands are calling out the "false metal" folks, saying they're coming for them (that was the idea behind Darkthrone's recent album title). Yet, they're such pussies that they won't even name names, and they aren't really going to do anything.
That's just a few.
Excellent. All three have been added. I will get to work on some stuff. I do have opinions on all three.
ReplyDeleteI think you should do a post about Norwegian Black Metal vs. Swedish Black Metal. You could list the pros and cons of each, and your personal favorites of each scene. Sorry, I can't really think of anything better at the moment.

ReplyDeleteAs for the stuff in KimmyGoat's comment, I have no idea how to work some of it in. I do mention some of the personal stuff going on occasionally, but typically don't delve too much into my personal life. I guess if there's a desire to read more about that, maybe I can try.
ReplyDeleteA little personal stuff is OK. It should either be short, tied into the theme of the blog, or independently interesting (i.e., you would want to read it even if it was about a stranger). Or, failing all the above, it should be very rare.
