Thunder of the Gods Festival Cancelled

Thunder of the Gods was supposed to be a three day festival in the middle of Texas somewhere featuring several metal bands of varying degrees of popularity. Unfortunately, the festival promoter is an unethical piece of shit. First, he's from Ohio, so why he's putting together a festival in Texas, I cannot begin to explain. He did not promote the festival particularly well, so not very many tickets were being sold. The lack of ticket sales lead him to pull the plug on the festival without telling anyone Saturday morning after the first night. Several bands had to pay to play the concert and are out $500.00 each. Many more bands were left stranded at the airport without a way to get home. He then texted the stagehands to tell them to go home and they would not be paid. He kept all the money in ticket sales and band fees.

This man has opened himself up to a number of civil lawsuits and I hope that the bands pool their resources to find representation to go after this guy. Here are some of the causes of action: fraud, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment. None of these will be terribly difficult to prove. The elements are all present: agreement (offer and acceptance), breach, and damages. I just hope there is something in writing somewhere as to what the agreement actually was.
